The company was founded in 2010 and is based in San Francisco, California, by Nirav Tolia, Sarah Leary, Prakash Janakiraman, and David Wiesen. Nextdoor has built a platform that facilitates healthy neighborhood connections and conversations. Nextdoor has ~36 Million weekly active users or neighbors on the platform. With 63 Million users and over 280,000 neighborhoods, Nextdoor has become a niche social media platform with the purpose of cultivating a kinder world where everyone has a neighborhood they can rely on. Nextdoor has raised $736.5M in funding over 13 rounds. Their latest funding was raised from a post-IPO equity round on Jan 17, 2023. Nextdoor is registered under the ticker NYSE: KIND
