[Bootstrapped] Ep.97 - The First 100 with Blair Cohen, the Founder of AuthenticID
Blair Cohen is the Founder and President of AuthenticID, a disruptive and transformational AI-driven fraud prevention and identity company that has changed the identity-proofing process as we know it. AuthenticID, founded in 2001, provides 100% automated identity proofing and fraud detection solutions that are leveraged by companies and industries around the world, including top telecom/wireless, banking, fintech, background screening, identity, gig, retail, e-commerce, government, healthcare and more.
With more than 30 years of experience, Blair is future-focused and can anticipate industry needs, identify pain points, and build systems to help organizations improve their bottom line. Before focusing on solving the biggest challenge on earth, identity, Blair launched several other groundbreaking enterprises and pioneering technology products.
In 1989, he transformed the background screening industry when he founded InfoMart. InfoMart produced high-quality, fast, automated background reports at a lower cost, revolutionizing the sector. A decade later, he founded the Association of Consumer Reporting Agencies, which preempted government regulation and served as a catalyst in moving the background screening industry toward self-regulation. In 2010, Cohen created Cohen & Company, which transformed how Human Capital Management (HCM) companies service their clients’ needs to confirm the qualifications of job candidates by designing, developing, and integrating automated background screening solutions into recruiting management software.
Blair’s reputation as a dynamic technology entrepreneur, combined with high-level experience, has made him an authority on identity and technology. Named by One World Identity (OWI) as one of the 100 Most Influential Identity Experts globally, his articles can be found in publications like Fast Company, and he frequently speaks at conferences focused on identity, risk management, and information security.
