Show Notes Transcript

Every Friday, I share with you one principle that has inspired me.

In this episode, I share with you one principle by Steve Jobs: "Do What you Love"

In our daily life, we have to make multiple decisions daily. It becomes really hard when you don’t have any key points based on what you will make that particular decision. Our understanding of the world around us is largely shaped by the core principles we have accepted. Principles recognize what is true and help us apply truth to new or unknown situations. A good set of principles will enable us to make decisions quickly, even if our situation is completely new.

Principles Friday will help you share the principles of successful entrepreneurs, founders, and big thinkers.

Happy Friday, everyone.

Welcome to Principles Friday, where I share one principle that can help you in your life and business.

Today we have on the show the late Steve Jobs.

"Do what you love."

A simple but overlooked principle.

I am pretty sure everyone knows who Steven Paul Jobs was. But for the few who don't, he was an American business magnate, entrepreneur, and investor who was the co-founder, chairman, and CEO of Apple Inc. He was a key figure in the development of personal computers and the creation of the Macintosh, iPod, iPhone, and iPad. In the 1980s, Jobs was forced out of the company he co-founded. He then founded NeXT, a computer platform development company, and later returned to Apple as CEO in 1997. Under his leadership, Apple introduced a number of revolutionary products, including the iMac, iPod, iPhone, and iPad. Jobs died on October 5, 2011, at the age of 56, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

"Do what you love" is a piece of advice that is often attributed to Steve. This phrase suggests that following your passions and interests is important to find fulfillment and success in your work.

It is perfectly true. If you are not passionate about your work, it is a 9-to-5 job.

Jobs was known for his passion for technology and belief in innovation's power to change the world. He believed that when people can pursue their passions and do work that they love, they are more motivated and engaged, and they can produce their best work. In his famous 2005 commencement speech at Stanford University, Jobs encouraged graduates to follow their hearts and "find what you love" to lead a fulfilling and rewarding life. If you haven't listened to it, please do that immediately after this episode.

Overall, his principle, "do what you love, " reminds you to pursue your passions and seek out work that is meaningful and fulfilling to you. In addition, it is a reminder to follow your heart and to take the time to find. Developing new, creative, and novel ideas is difficult unless you are passionate about moving society forward.

That concludes it for this Friday.

Remember: "People with passion can change the world for the better, so do what you love."

Have a great weekend.
